It seems when a hockey game goes bad it's always the goalie who gets crucified for the loss. the scapegoat. Sure, as the coversataion continues, the astute fan will point out the defense are the ones who generally hang the goalie out to dry...
Religious imagery has such high impact that even a crappy sketch like this has some weight. I'd also be hard pressed to find a goalie anywhere who doesn't agree with the sentiment. Someday I'll have to actually do a good version of this. Thanks you for your kind words and time.

Thanks for your kind words. This idea came about because during the game if things are going wrong and in the media if things are going wrong the first guy crusified is the goalie. not the defense who should not have been allowing people to shoot. Many a good goalie has suffered this fate and I thought it wold be a cool idea for a pic.
As far as inking and colour schemes go I had not really thought about it past the concept drawing. I'm mainly a pencil guy and don't usually put any thought into colour. Unless on the rare occasion I do colour something. As far as a continuation of this piece maybe i'll look at it again and see if I can expand on it. If I do I'll be sure to drop a note to you.
Again thanks for stopping by glad you enjoyed this one. I don't know if you checked out my gallery or not but there is pics I did of Ed Belfor [link] and Martin Broduer [link] . Sorry for the little plug there but what the heck.
amazing graphite portraits, btw.. very interesting! And thanks for the notification, I think that it would be a cool piece, if you wish to pursue it, that is.
